In Daegu, people under the age of 60 can go in and out of restaurants and cafes without a quarantine pass.

Previously, youth quarantine passes were also suspended in the metropolitan area, Busan, and Daejeon, but now there are growing calls for a complete improvement of the quarantine pass policy.

At a restaurant in Daegu, many customers are confused as to whether or not they should take the quarantine pass.

[(Should I take a picture?) No, you don’t have to.]

[You don’t have to take a picture.

(Oh right?)]

Some citizens said that the quarantine pass was gone and it became more comfortable, and

[Daegu citizen: I was doing something unnecessary in the first place, so I thought there was no need to do a QR (even before).] The

quarantine pass is still valid .

For the owner who had to distinguish between those who were over 60 and those who were not, the workload increased.

[Son Eun-jung / Daegu restaurant president: (60 years old) Do it, don't do it below, it's a bit busy to do this.

I wish I could just do it all or not do it all.]

There are 18 cases of quarantine pass lawsuits against the state or local governments, but the target and facilities are different according to the court decision.

The youth quarantine pass was suspended in seven areas including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Daegu, and Busan, and the quarantine pass was also suspended in Gyeonggi-do at exhibitions and expositions.

As some of the effects of restaurants and cafes in Daegu have been suspended, the argument that the overall quarantine pass should be reviewed is growing.

[Kim Woo-joo/Professor of Infectious Diseases Department of Korea University Guro Hospital: Since the government does not conduct an epidemiological investigation and passively monitors close contacts of confirmed patients for 7 days, the role of the quarantine pass has significantly decreased now, and it is not right to think that it has reached the end of its lifespan (I think) )]

However, the government's position remains unchanged.

Minister of Health and Welfare Kwon Deok-cheol said that he would immediately appeal with the local government and review the quarantine pass when the epidemic subsides, saying that a quarantine pass is needed because the epidemic situation has not yet stabilized.
