A cafe owner got his hands on a wallet left by a customer and was caught up in the persistent police investigation.

Last month, Mr. A lost his wallet containing 403,000 won at a cafe in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

The cafe owner handed over an empty wallet with no money, saying, 'An elementary school student who appears to be about 10 years old only gave this to me.'

There was no CCTV in the cafe, so it seemed difficult to find the whereabouts of the child, but Mr. A reported the loss to the police station near the cafe with the feeling of trying to catch even a straw.

It is said that the police who were assigned the incident carefully looked at the CCTV installed at the crossroad outside the cafe, but on the day of the incident, the appearance of an elementary school student who appeared to be about 10 years old was not seen.

After the police investigation continued, the cafe owner eventually confessed, 'I think I was out of my mind for a while because business didn't work because of the corona'.

It is said that an elementary school student gave it to him by taking advantage of the fact that there is an elementary school near the cafe.

The police sent the cafe owner to the prosecution without detention on charges of theft.
