You may not know it but you can set a daily time limit on the Instagram app.

Once this time has passed, you are notified by a notification.

Initially 10 minutes, this minimum time was extended without users being notified, reports TechCrunch relayed by 01net.

From now on, the lowest limit is 30 minutes.

An increase that defeats the purpose of the "Take a Break" feature, which is to encourage users to take breaks after spending a long time on Instagram.

Meta explains

Contacted by TechCrunch, Meta justified this change: “We have two time management features.

Our existing "Daily Limit" shows you a notification when you've reached your daily limit, but our new "Take A Break" feature shows you full screen reminders to exit the app, and includes ten minute intervals.

We changed the "daily limit" options to avoid sending multiple notifications at the same time.

Note that the latest financial results of the group are not good.

Enticing users to spend more time on the app gives Meta the ability to serve more ads...
