A court has sentenced a man in his 60s to jail for hiding gold bars in his anus and bringing them into or out of the country.

It has been found that the man's transport books and gold bars smuggled in and exported are worth about 16 billion won.

Yesterday (22nd), the 15th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Lee Kyu-hoon) sentenced A, who was handed over to trial on charges of violating the Customs Act, 1 year and 6 months in prison, a fine of 684.7 million won, and a fine of 15,876.7 million won.

A was handed over to trial on charges of bringing in or taking out gold bars without reporting it to the customs manager after hiding gold bars in the anus along with the transportation books.

Person A hid 6.1 billion won worth of gold bars from China to Incheon International Airport for about two years from November 2015, and smuggled 9.6 billion won worth of gold bars from Incheon International Airport to Japan for about one year from March 2016. I am charged with one.

To Mr. A, who stood in the courtroom, the court said, "The quality of the crime is very poor in light of the circumstances, contents, frequency, and crimes of the accused repeatedly stealing gold bars over a long period of time." They actively provoked crime, such as dragging them into gold bullion carriers.”

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The accused admitted all but some of the crimes in this case and considered the fact that he was a first-time offender with no history of punishment."

This is a 'news pick'.
