It was found that 80% of patients who took the oral (edible) treatment Paxrovid for COVID-19 improved their symptoms.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) analyzed and released the treatment progress of 364 Paxrovid patients today (21st).

Among the analyzed subjects, 352 people completed taking the drug for 5 days.

None of these patients developed severe symptoms or died.

The remaining 12 patients stopped taking the drug because of persistent fever, taste changes, muscle pain, and tachycardia (faster heartbeat).

Of the 301 people who completed taking the drug who responded to the survey, 81.1% said that their symptoms of COVID-19, such as respiratory symptoms and sore throat, improved.

When the symptoms improved, 81.5% said 'within 3 days after starting the drug'.

73.8% of those who finished taking it said that they experienced a change in taste, such as bitter taste.

However, 75.6% of patients who experienced changes in taste reported that these discomfort symptoms disappeared within 3 days after taking the drug.

89.4% of those who finished taking the drug said that they would recommend taking the drug to nearby COVID-19 patients.

The script gave meaning to "the positive reaction of the patients has been confirmed".

The results of the analysis of the treatment progress of 63 patients who initially received Paxrovid, released on the 31st of last month, were similar to those announced today.

At that time, there were 60 people who finished taking it, and 80% (44 people) of 55 people who responded to the survey answered that their symptoms improved.

From today, 'patients with underlying diseases in their 40s' have been included in the subjects to be administered with Paxrovid.

As a result, all subjects for administration were over 60 years old, immunocompromised, and people with underlying diseases in their 40s and 50s.

Underlying diseases include diabetes, cardiovascular diseases including high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, chronic lung disease (including asthma), cancer, and overweight. I did.
