The use of self-test kits is increasing as the number of new COVID-19 cases is breaking new records every day.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, during the self-exam, the cotton swab should be rubbed in a circular motion 10 times with the swab touching the wall of the nostrils 1.5 to 2 cm deep.

There are cases where the test swab is forcefully inserted to improve accuracy, but this is not recommended.

This is because the rapid antigen test method used for self-testing does not increase the accuracy no matter how many nasal samples are collected.

Rather, you need to be careful because there is a risk of bacterial infection if you stab your nose forcibly.

Self-test kits have very low sensitivity in the early stages of infection, but in order to obtain accurate results, it is recommended to test after symptoms appear.

If you have been tested negative several times but still suspect you have an infection, one way is to go to a hospital and get a rapid antigen test. .
