After three weeks of trial, the former dog handler, Nordahl Lelandais, has just been sentenced to life imprisonment, together with a 22-year security sentence, for the murder and kidnapping of little Maëlys.

The Isère Assize Court on Friday sentenced Nordahl Lelandais to life imprisonment with a 22-year security sentence for the murder of little Maëlys in August 2017.

This conviction is in accordance with the requisitions of the Advocate General, who had qualified the accused of "absolute social danger".

Standing in his box, Nordahl Lelandais reacted calmly to the statement of the verdict, as did the family of Maëlys.
