In Daejeon, following Seoul and Gyeonggi, a court decision has been issued to suspend the effect of administrative measures targeting 12-18 year olds to apply the COVID-19 vaccination certificate and voice verification system (prevention pass).

The 1st administrative division of the Daejeon District Court (Chief Judge Oh Young-pyo) decided to cite some of the cases in which 96 people, including group A, applied to the mayor of Daejeon on the 18th, including the expansion of the target of application of the quarantine pass, applied for suspension of execution of the notice.

Among the applicants, including adults, the court ruled in favor of the youth (nine) on the issue of 'suspending measures to expand the application of the quarantine pass to those between the ages of 12 and 18'.

The court said, "It is difficult to see that it is a limit with reasonable grounds to apply the quarantine pass to teenagers aged 12 to 18 who have a remarkably low rate of severity of COVID-19 infection and have no deaths. It does not appear to have a significant adverse effect on the public welfare,” he said.

The decision to cite was also cited as the basis for the decision to cite the fact that, in the case of adolescents, even if they become infected with COVID-19, the likelihood of leading to serious illness is significantly reduced.

Earlier, on the 5th, Daejeon City announced 'Daejeon Metropolitan City Public Notice No. 2022-20' to apply the vaccine pass even to those aged 12 to 18.

However, according to today's court decision, the youth vaccine pass will be suspended until the 30th day from the date of the judgment in the case of the administrative litigation (claim for cancellation of public notice) case, or if the judgment is finalized before that date, the youth vaccine pass will be suspended.

Previously, the Seoul Administrative Court and the Suwon District Court made a decision to cite a similar purpose.

In the early flow, the government announced today that the implementation of the youth quarantine pass would be delayed by one month from the 1st of the next month to the 1st of April.

On the other hand, the Daejeon District Court rejected the application to suspend the designation of five entertainment facilities and restaurants and cafes (hold'em pubs, convenience stores), etc.

The court ruled, "It is difficult to see that there is a risk of irreparable damage to applicants due to the mandatory application of the quarantine pass for the above facilities."
