Although the address of the sex offender who is the subject of disclosure has changed in Busan and Gyeongnam, it has been revealed that the police have not been aware of this for up to two years.

According to the Busan Gyeongnam Police Agency regular audit report released today (17th) by the Board of Audit and Inspection, five police stations, including Busan Police Station A, did not change the address of the registered sex offender for as short as 58 days and as long as 635 days.

According to the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, a person who has been convicted of a sexual offense subject to registration must submit personal information such as address to the competent police station, and the police must face-to-face every three months to check the authenticity or change of the relevant information. .

As a result of the audit, the police did not look up their addresses electronically, and did not know that their addresses had changed because they only checked them by meeting or talking on the phone without visiting their actual residence.

In addition, the police should keep full-body photos of sex offenders, but it was found that two subjects neglected to take photos without justifiable reasons.

As this fact was confirmed during the audit process, the address change and photo shoot have been completed.

In this audit, the Board of Audit and Inspection also discovered 17 police officers who were registered as multi-level salespeople.

According to the current law, police officers cannot be registered as multi-level salespeople.
