A father in his 50s who forcibly molested and sexually assaulted his minor daughter, who is intellectually disabled, has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Today (17th), the 2nd criminal division of the Jeju District Court (Judge Chang Chan-su) sentenced 50-year-old A, who was indicted on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act (rape the disabled), etc., to 8 years in prison.

At the same time, we have ordered employment restrictions for children and youth-related organizations and welfare facilities for the disabled for 10 years and the installation of electronic location tracking devices for 10 years.

In May of last year, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of sexually assaulting and forcibly molesting his daughter B (then 19 years old), who was intellectually disabled, twice at a hotel in Jeju City.

At first, Ms. B was conscious of her family relationship, and she expressed that she did not want Mr. A to be punished, but she recognized the specific damage through counseling, etc., and she appealed for her punishment against Mr. A.

The court said, "Despite the duty and responsibility to protect the victim, the accused used the victim as a target to satisfy his distorted sexual desires, and as a result, the victim suffered great pain without being able to respond to the defendant's series of actions." pointed out.

"The accused has no history of being punished for the same crime, but it seems that he has not been caught for a long time." He also cited the prosecution's request for an order to attach a location tracking electronic device because there is a risk of recidivism considering the relationship with the victim and the details of the crime. "He explained the reason for the sentencing.

On the other hand, at the first trial held on November 18 last year, Mr. A was also incensed by showing his dignified appearance despite the court's shouts.

At that time, the judge was angry with Mr. A, saying, "Isn't she a daughter. Isn't she even a heartbreaking daughter. How can a father do such a thing to a daughter. Does she look like a woman to her?"

To this, Mr. A calmly replied, "She did not look like the opposite sex," while bowing her head.
