The court sentenced a man in his 20s who pretended to be a mentally ill person to receive a reduction in military service after enlisting at the army training center with a suspended sentence of imprisonment.

Although this man was diagnosed with intellectual disability at the hospital, it was revealed that he was able to lead a normal life to the point where he actually took the top spot in college.

According to the legal community today (15th), Detective 5 of the Uijeongbu District Court (Judge Park Soo-wan) sentenced A, who was charged with violating the Military Service Act, to 1 year in prison and 2 years of probation.

Person A, who entered the army training center in 2015, claimed that he had a mental illness and complained of symptoms of mental illness in an interview with a surgeon, and was sent home four days after entering the training camp.

After returning to society, Mr. A, who returned to society, complained of depression, saying, "I went to the military to escape from my violent father, but I got frustrated because I was sent home." 66', and was diagnosed with intellectual disability by the doctor.

For this reason, Mr. A was judged to be subject to the call-up of a physical grade 4 social service worker in a re-physical examination conducted at the Military Manpower Office in Northern Gyeonggi in 2016.

However, it turned out that all of A's allegations were not true.

This is because Mr. A had neither been subjected to violence by his father nor had a history of mental illness.

In the first semester of the first year of university, Mr. A obtained a grade of 4.43 out of 4.5, showing that it was difficult to say that he had an intellectual disability. It was confirmed that he was evaluated as a 'person who takes the lead and voluntarily tries to solve the problem'.

In addition, while maintaining a normal life, such as conducting Internet broadcasting for nearly two years from 2017, it was investigated that he had said to his acquaintances, "I received public interest by intentionally evading military service" and "I will teach you how to withdraw from active duty." .

Person A, who has been acting suspiciously in relation to his military service issue, was eventually brought to court on charges of violating the Military Service Act.

In the courtroom, Mr. A denied the charges, saying, "Actually, he suffers from a mental illness, so he was merely judged to be subject to the summons of a social service worker with a physical grade of 4", but the court said, "The accused deceived for the purpose of evading military service or receiving a reduction or exemption. It is a bitter case, and the crime is not light in light of the circumstances and methods of the crime.”
