Corona self-test kits can be purchased at convenience stores from today (15th).

When kits supplied in large quantities are sold individually at pharmacies or convenience stores, the price is set at 6,000 won per unit, but the supply is not yet sufficient.

Reporter Park Jae-hyeon covered the story.

Take the rapid antigen test kits out of the box and place them one at a time in a plastic bag.

When a box of 25 comes in, the pharmacist packs the components one by one.

[Shin-Young Yang / Pharmacist: It takes about 20 minutes to subdivide once (it takes). It takes 25 minutes to subdivide everything, but when it runs out, you have to stop what you are doing in the middle and divide it up and display it…

These test kits sold separately cost 6,000 won each, but even the same product packaged from the beginning is more expensive.

As the shortage of test kits continues, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has limited the supply to 50 per pharmacy per day until this week.

There were quite a few places that were not ready for the convenience store sales that started today.

[Convenience store employee: This announcement is coming tomorrow.

The 18,000 won won't come in at all for the original two.

It only came in 6 pieces and it was cut off.]

In response to the criticism that the rapid antigen test kit is only 70-80% accurate, the quarantine authorities announced that they could receive a free PCR test at a screening clinic after receiving a statement from a local hospital or clinic.

Even if the rapid antigen test is negative, it is limited to those who show symptoms of coronavirus such as fever or sore throat.

Even if you pay money at a medical institution and get a PCR test, if you test positive, you can get your test fee back at the hospital immediately.

In addition, from tomorrow, home healers will be able to receive prescription drugs for Corona, such as fever-reducing drugs, at all local pharmacies, except for oral medications.
