Among those who have completed the 3rd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the 4th dose will start from today (14th) for those with weakened immunity.

The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (promotional team) announced that from this day on, the fourth vaccination will be conducted at a local consignment medical institution for those who do not have sufficient immunity due to underlying diseases or taking immunosuppressive drugs.

These can be vaccinated on the same day by reserving the remaining vaccines through the KakaoTalk/Naver app or by putting their names on the preliminary list of medical institutions that can vaccinate by phone.

Starting today, you can also make a reservation through the vaccination reservation website (ncvr.kdca.go.kr). In this case, you can select the vaccination date from the 28th.

In addition, the 4th vaccination will be given to those who are admitted to or resident in a nursing hospital or nursing facility.

The promotion team announced that they will vaccinate Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from the first week of next month to approximately 500,000 people who have completed the 3rd vaccination among those who are 18 years of age or older who are hospitalized, hospitalized, or working in nursing homes.

They can receive the 4th dose from 4 months (120 days) after the 3rd dose.

However, if a group infection occurs or is likely to occur in the hospital or facility, an exception is made so that vaccination is possible even after 3 months (90 days) after the completion of the third vaccination.

Accordingly, if quarantine measures are urgently needed, the fourth vaccination is possible from today.

The promotion group said that the implementation plan for the 4th vaccination is "a measure to minimize the severity and death that can be prevented through additional vaccination (4th vaccination) in a situation where the number of confirmed cases is increasing due to the high transmission power of omicron mutation." "Immunity formation of immunocompromised persons The purpose is to prevent serious illness and death by increasing the number of people who are sick and by suppressing the infection caused by the increase in the number of clusters in nursing hospitals and facilities.”
