At a shipyard in Ulsan, a worker's clothes caught on fire and suffered severe burns while he was doing electrical repair work.

Yesterday (12th) around 11 am, the work clothes of Mr. Kim, in his 40s, who was doing electricity recovery work in the substation at the construction site of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard's Ulsan headquarters caught fire.

Other employees found this and brought fire extinguishers to the fire, but in the process, two fire extinguishers did not work properly, resulting in an urgent situation.

In the accident, Kim suffered third-degree burns to his arm and neck and was taken to the hospital.

In this regard, the union pointed out the safety problem at the workplace, saying, "If even the third fire extinguisher did not work, an unfortunate event close to self-immolation would have occurred."

The company said it is inspecting fire extinguishers every month and is in the position to investigate the safety situation at the time and the exact cause of the accident.

The Ulsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor is also planning to investigate the exact cause of the accident against company officials.
