police called 7 people, including witnesses and officials from subcontractors, who were at the site of the explosion at the Yeocheon NCC factory in Yeosu National Industrial Complex yesterday (11th) and today, as witnesses and investigated.

Among them, the police converted the person in charge of the scene to the suspect status and made a criminal case.

He was charged with negligence and manslaughter, in which four people died and four others were injured in an explosion caused by neglecting the safety management of the process for which he was responsible.

The accident occurred while the employees of the subcontractor had finished cleaning the heat exchanger and conducted a tightness test to check the performance before restarting.

In the process, the police are investigating whether the site safety regulations have been properly followed.

An autopsy the day after tomorrow will also confirm the exact cause of death of the four dead.

Relevant organizations such as the police, firefighters, and the National Forensic Service, who conducted the first joint investigation immediately after the accident, plan to conduct a detailed investigation again next week to investigate the cause of the explosion.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor, which formed the Central Occupational Accident Management Headquarters, also ordered the plant to stop working, and began a full-scale investigation into allegations of violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act and Occupational Safety and Health Act.
