Called “Articles,” the new feature will allow users to share posts, possibly without the character limit.
It was revealed via a screenshot shared by Jane Manchun Wong.
In addition, the precise details of the "Articles" functionality of Twitter are not yet known.
Bypass the 280 character limit
Initially capped at 140 characters, tweets are now limited to 280 characters.
But a new feature could change that.
According to details shared by tipster Jane Manchun Wong on Twitter, the American giant is working on a feature.
Thus, "Twitter Articles", could allow users to post tweets with longer text.
Currently, the only way users can tweet longer chunks of text is through threads.
With a dedicated section in the app, users will have the option to "Create a Twitter post".
In other words, this new feature could make it possible to write uninterrupted text, in a single tweet.
Moreover, it would mean that the functionality will not be limited to certain categories of accounts.
Release date still unclear
Twitter has yet to officially reveal how Twitter Articles will work, or which accounts will have access to them.
The company is currently working on a few features as part of Twitter Blue Labs.
“The Lab offers Twitter Blue subscribers early access to the features we are testing, before they are available to everyone”, defines the platform.
In this context, the company told the online news site
CNET
that it will soon share more details about the Twitter Articles feature.
In short, for now, there are no details about the release date of this new feature.
