The final confirmation rate of those who tested positive through rapid antigen testing at screening clinics and temporary screening centers nationwide was 70.5%.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters today (11th), from the 29th of last month to the 8th of this month, a total of 2,106,997 rapid antigen tests were conducted at screening clinics and temporary screening centers across the country.

Of these, 41,16 cases came out positive, and as a result of PCR (gene amplification) testing on them, 28,905 people were finally confirmed.

Seven out of 10 people who tested positive for the rapid antigen test turned out to be actual confirmed cases.

However, this count excludes cases confirmed by receiving a test kit and separately testing it at home without being tested at the site.

The government is planning to introduce a computerized system that can automatically issue negative certificates by the end of this month as the demand for rapid antigen testing, such as for issuing negative certificates, has increased.

In addition, he urged them to operate flexibly according to the on-site situation, such as distributing test kits to individuals to avoid prolonged on-site waiting time.

Also, starting next month, the local government will purchase and distribute kits directly through the Public Procurement Service, instead of purchasing and distributing self-test kits in bulk from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As of yesterday, due to the transition to the examination and treatment system, a total of 317 places including 419 respiratory clinics nationwide and 2,598 neighborhood clinics are also conducting COVID-19 testing and treatment.

In addition, 21 respiratory clinics are scheduled to open during this month, and applications from local hospitals and clinics who want to participate are also being accepted.
