A psychological counselor who molested a client while wearing an electronic anklet was also sentenced to prison in the appeals court.

It was revealed that he was wearing an electronic anklet after serving two sentences on sexual assault charges.

Today (11th), the 9th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (Director Moon Gwang-seop Park Young-wook Park Young-wook Hwang Seong-mi) sentenced A (54), a psychological counselor who was handed over to trial on charges of sexual assault, 2 years and 6 months in prison as in the original trial.

The order to notify the disclosure of personal information for five years, restrictions on employment at organizations related to children, youth, and the disabled, and the installation of electronic location tracking devices for the same period were also maintained.

Person A, who was running a psychotherapy center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was handed over to trial in May of last year on charges of sexual harassment, such as asking sexual questions and forcibly kissing her client B.

When the police who received the report at the time tried to verify personal information, Mr. A was also accused of hiding his identity by giving out his brother's resident registration number.

As a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that at the time of the crime, Mr. A was sentenced to two times in the past on charges of sexual assault and rape, and then was a repeat offender wearing an electronic anklet.

In this case, there is an obligation to report when personal information such as workplace is changed, but Mr. A has not fulfilled this.

At the first trial held in September last year, the court sentenced them to two years and six months in prison, saying, "There is only one offense in this case, but the accused has the same criminal record, and he commits another crime while wearing an electronic anklet," and sentenced him to two years and six months in prison. .

In response, Mr. A appealed, saying that the sentence was unfair, but the court of appeals maintained the sentence of the lower court, pointing out that "the victim suffered from forced molestation rather than counseling and treatment, and is still demanding severe punishment for the perpetrator."
