The Ministry of Employment and Labor has launched a forced investigation into the headquarters of Sampyo Industrial, which caused a serious industrial accident.
According to Yonhap News on the 11th, the Ministry of Labor has been raiding and searching the Sampyo Industrial Headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul from around 9 am today.
It was confirmed that the Ministry of Labor two days ago booked the CEO of Sampyo Industrial on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents.
Earlier, on the 29th of last month, while drilling a hole for stone blasting at the Yangju Office of Sampyo Industries in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, the soil collapsed and three workers were buried and all died.
This is the first serious industrial accident since the Arbitration Accident Punishment Act came into effect on the 27th of last month.
