Almost a year after the last price increase on American soil, Netflix has just announced a new increase in its prices.
This concerns, for the moment, only the American territory.
So far, however, each price increase in the United States has led to an increase in all prices in the rest of the world, a few months later.
Subscription prices thus increase by one to two dollars, depending on the formula.
The Basic plan goes from 8.99 to 9.99 dollars, the Standard plan (HD, 2 screens) goes from 13.99 to 15.49 dollars and the Premium plan (4K, 4 screens) goes from 17.99 at $19.99.
In France, subscriptions remain for the moment fixed at 8.99 euros/month for the basic formula, 13.49 euros/month for the Standard formula and 17.99 euros per month for the Premium formula.
However, it is likely that they will undergo an identical increase within 6 to 12 months.
Discreetly
As had already been the case for the previous price hike, Netflix is the subject of criticism.
The streaming giant justifies these price increases by the multiplication of content on its platform while the latter is facing very tough competition with the new players who have entered this market.
