Today (19th) in Gwangju, where the building collapse happened last week, the work to find the five missing people continued. Up to the top of the building, from the 22nd to the 39th floor, there are still a lot of wreckage of the collapsed building, and there is a possibility of an additional accident. The fire department released an inside video today of what the condition of this building, which is not easy for rescuers to access, looks like now.

Reporter Choi Seon-gil will deliver the first news today.

The video released by the fire department shows the appearance of each floor from the 22nd floor to the 39th floor of the apartment building 201 in Hwajeong-dong, Gwangju.

A spot marked with yellow tape by the fire department is visible through the crack in the ceiling.

It is a place where there is a possibility that there may be a missing person because the rescue dog shows a specific reaction.

[Firefighter: (Rescue dog reaction point) There is a sign over there.] There

was a rescue dog reaction on the 26th, 27th, and 28th floors, but the living rooms and rooms around the marked places completely collapsed, making it difficult for rescuers to enter.

On the 23rd and 24th floors, the walls collapsed as if they had been bombed, creating a cliff, and on the 25th floor, the ceiling sunken by the collapse extends to the floor.

[Moon Hee-jun / Chief Gwangju West Fire Department: There are many remnants inside. If you search for and rescue people, you can think of them as being safe because the crew can get hurt.]

On the 29th and 30th floors, the reinforcing bars bent like nuts as the concrete escaped due to the impact of the accident.

On the 31st floor, a window worker's bag was found.

From the 33rd to the 35th floors, traces of the window work that was carried out right before the collapse of the building remain.

Also, from the 36th to the 38th floor, the concrete cracked like an earthquake.

Even on the roof of a building where concrete was poured in the cold weather on the day of the accident, it is difficult to plan a search because the damage patterns of buildings vary by floor.

[Park Hong-geun / Professor, Department of Architecture, Seoul National University: The part where the slab collapsed has different floors.

As a result, I will enter from which floor at once, and it is a bit difficult to do this.

After searching for the missing person in both corners first, and the part that landed first...

For the safety of the crew, the fire department plans to conduct an emergency safety diagnosis and install a safety net before launching a full-scale search.
