From today (10th), the mandatory application of the expanded quarantine pass, which requires showing a certificate of vaccination or negative confirmation, was implemented to go to a department store or a large mart.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has added facilities with an area of more than 3,000 square meters, such as shopping malls and hypermarkets, to the mandatory application of the quarantine pass.

In the midst of controversy over how far to limit the application of the quarantine pass, the government has decided to include large-scale stores and other facilities in the compulsory application.

However, there is still a possibility that the scope of application will change as the court recently accepted a parent group's request to exclude private institutes and reading rooms from the quarantine pass-applied facilities, as well as requests for suspension of execution to exclude other facilities.

We have collected 5 questions about the expansion of the quarantine pass.

Q) From today, where are the facilities that cannot be entered without a quarantine pass?

A) Department stores, shopping malls, large marts, agricultural and fishery product distribution centers, and large bookstores with an area of 3,000 square meters or more.

It has been expanded to apply quarantine passes such as vaccination certificates and voice confirmation systems to large facilities currently subject to the application of the electronic access list.

On December 6, last year, restaurants, cafes, and movie theaters were included in the mandatory application, and the target facilities were added about a month later.

However, the quarantine pass does not apply to places that are not subject to the electronic access list, such as convenience stores and small stores.

People who used to shop in department stores now need a quarantine pass, but it is not necessarily the case at small marts.

Q) How to verify the quarantine pass?

A) The most frequently used method is to authenticate the fact that vaccination has been completed using a smartphone QR code when entering a facility.

Alternatively, you must show the staff the PCR negative confirmation you received from the public health center.

PCR negative confirmation is valid until 12:00 PM on the 48th day after the negative result is notified.

However, those who have been infected with COVID-19 and have fully recovered, or those classified as exceptions from the quarantine pass application for medical reasons such as a serious vaccine adverse reaction, must have a release confirmation (within 180 days from the date of release) or an exception confirmation to use the facility. can.

Q) What happens if I bring an expired vaccination certificate?

A) You must pay a fine for violations.

There is a one-week probation period until the 16th, but a fine will be imposed from the 17th.

If you enter a department store, etc. after the vaccination validity period has passed, you may be subject to a fine for negligence, and the facility operator may be subject to administrative measures such as suspension of operation along with a fine.

Q) What is the amount of the fine for negligence?

A) In case of violation by an individual, 100,000 won will be charged for each number of violations.

The facility operator will be charged 1.5 million won for the first violation and 3 million won for the second violation.

At the same time, the 1st violation can result in 10 days, the 2nd violation 20 days, the 3rd violation 3 months, and the 4th violation can result in a facility closure order.

Q) What is the validity period of the vaccine?

A) The vaccine is valid only until midnight on the 180th day from the second dose of the vaccine.

For Janssen vaccines, it is valid for up to 180 days after the first dose.

For those who are nearing the expiration date, the validity period of 6 months is extended from the moment the third dose is administered.

In the case of the 3rd vaccination, it is recognized that the quarantine pass takes effect immediately after the injection.

It is estimated that there are 343,000 people who have passed 180 days after the second vaccination, and in this case, they may be cracked down when using facilities covered by the mandatory quarantine pass. It looks like it could be.
