"After 9 pm when the pub business closes, people who have crossed over to the unmanned cafe will have a drink and will not be able to sleep."

Mr. A, who lives in Busan, starts to get stressed after 9 pm because of an unmanned cafe that has recently opened in front of his house.

This is because people who were at regular restaurants and cafes late at night are flocking to unmanned stores that are open 24 hours and making a fuss.

He said, "I woke up to the sound of people fighting and yelling at an unmanned cafe in the morning, and I woke up and reported it to the police," he said. he recalled.

Recently, as people flock to the unmanned cafe late at night, which is open 24 hours and it is difficult to check the quarantine pass, there are voices concerned about noise pollution and the quarantine vacuum.

B, in his 40s, who lives in Busanjin-gu, said, "At first, I liked that there was a 24-hour unmanned cafe near my house.

He said, "Like a regular cafe, there are tables and chairs where people can sit, so there are many people who come and go, but I doubt whether they followed the quarantine rules, such as safe calls and QR codes."

The reason unmanned cafes can remain open until after 9 pm is because the store is registered as a food vending company (vending company).

Usually, restaurants and cafes belonging to general and resting restaurant business must comply with quarantine rules, but most unmanned cafes that are food vending companies are not covered.

An official from the quarantine authorities said, "Most of the unmanned cafes we know are registered as food vending companies. If you register, that doesn't apply," he said.

As the number of unmanned stores is on the rise due to the prolonged COVID-19 outbreak, there is a high demand for appropriate measures to address the blind spots of quarantine.

An official from the quarantine authorities said, "There is a high risk that the inspection of the quarantine pass will not be done properly because there is no resident custodian, and the table and chairs in the store can make the stay longer. This has to be done,” he said.
