The feature already exists for Android users, and it may soon see the light of day in the iOS version of the app.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing the publication of profile photos in notifications.

Thus, iPhone or iPad owners will more quickly identify the correspondent who is trying to reach them.

The notifications will therefore display the sender, the message and therefore the profile picture.

This will be the case for individual discussions but also for group discussions.

Active only for beta testers

For now, this novelty is only accessible to beta testers on iOS 15. You will therefore have to be patient and wait for WhatsApp to activate it for all users.

In mid-December, the messaging app offered a new feature to its users.

They can now check and listen to their voicemail messages before sending them.

These messages were previously sent directly to the recipient when the record button was released.

WhatsApp is also reportedly working on an option that would allow a group admin to delete messages for all chat members.

This novelty would be under development.
