It is known that a man in his 50s who collapsed from cardiac arrest on the eve of Christmas was rescued thanks to the swift response of his son and 119 paramedics.



According to the Gongju Fire Station, a 911 call was received from an apartment in Gongju on the 24th at 4:27 a.m. stating that "my father, who was complaining of chest pain, collapsed."



Members of the Gongju Fire Station New Building 119 Safety Center Chang-yeon Kim, Hyeon-jeong Ko, and Han-sol Park were dispatched to the scene and requested other family members to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).



My son, Dae-kyung Nam (22), who was at home, spoke on the phone with an ambulance and did CPR quickly for a few minutes.



Nam, who majored in physical education, said that he learned and practiced CPR in advance at school.



Then, 119 paramedics who arrived at Nam's house performed professional CPR using a defibrillator and oxygen delivery equipment.



Nam's father completely regained consciousness in the apartment elevator heading to the ambulance, and after receiving treatment at a university hospital, he is currently undergoing outpatient treatment.



Nam Dae-kyung said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the 119 paramedics who saved my father's life with quick first aid."



Go Hyun-jeong Fire Department also said, "The reporter's active CPR helped a lot in saving the cardiac arrest patient at the scene.
