<Reporter> This

is the construction site of the indoor gymnasium in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon.

A work stop order is posted on the wall of the construction site prohibiting work at height for exterior finishing.

Yesterday (20th) around 9:10 a.m., two workers who were working on attaching windows here fell from the height of the third floor.

I was working on an exterior wall window in an aerial work vehicle, but it is known that the accident occurred because my foot fell through a gap in the work space.

Both were taken to hospital, but one worker in his 50s died.

As a result of the first investigation, it was confirmed that the site safety rules were not properly followed.

It is reported that both of them were wearing safety gear and working without a safety ring to prevent a fall.

[Ministry of Employment and Labor officials: If you wear a safety belt, you have to put a loop on the safety attachment facility, but you were only wearing a safety belt and not wearing a loop.] It

was understood that neither the signal nor the person in charge of safety management was present at the time of the work.

Both are day workers employed by subcontractors.

The police plan to call additional construction site officials today to check the exact circumstances of the accident and whether safety rules were followed.
