In the future, the relevant law will be changed so that fines will be imposed even if a public interest report is received through video recording media such as black boxes or mobile phones.

According to the police, the amendment to the Road Traffic Act, which adds 13 items of fines related to public interest reporting using black boxes, has recently passed the plenary session of the National Assembly.

The bill created a new basis for imposing fines on 13 traffic violations that can be proven by video recording media.

The added items include non-compliance with direction change signals, violation of direction change prohibition, course change method violation, violation of entry prohibition such as safety zone, throwing objects, violation of U-turn/crossing/reverse prohibition, and violation of safe driving obligation.

In addition, wearing a two-wheeled vehicle helmet, failing to operate lights and lighting, violation of curfew, violation of places and methods prohibited to overtake, use of mobile phone while driving, and excessive load weight and capacity were also included.

These items could not be subject to a fine for negligence even if a public interest report was filed before the law was changed.

A police official said, "Even if there are many public interest reports using video devices, it is often difficult to impose a fine for negligence because the law is not stipulated.

The amendment bill is transferred to the government, approved by the cabinet meeting, and then promulgated by the president, and it goes into effect on the date.
