I am now at the site of the accident in Danwon-gu, Ansan.

There was an explosion on the fifth floor of the multi-family house behind me, and as you can see, the floor is full of glass fragments and debris, making it difficult to even walk, but the impact of the explosion spreads through the iron doors.

The explosion occurred around 7:35 pm yesterday evening.

An accident occurred on the fifth floor of a multi-family house, and the police and fire department are presuming that the cause of the accident was an explosion of LNG gas.

A woman in her 50s who lived on the fourth floor was killed in the accident.

Three residents were seriously injured with burns and fractures, and a total of five people, including a passerby, suffered minor injuries.

KEPCO and City Hall have just conducted the first safety diagnosis, but they have closed the building as they judged that there may be secondary damage caused by a short circuit.

For this reason, residents living on the 1st and 2nd floors of the building will be moving to accommodations provided by the ward office for the time being.

Police and fire departments are investigating the exact cause of the accident, such as whether the accident was caused by negligence or whether there are any suspicions of a crime.

In addition, we plan to resume additional safety inspections on the building as soon as the sun rises.
