The police have summoned and investigated former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mi, who was caught up in allegations related to real estate.

The Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency's anti-corruption and economic crime investigation team announced on the 5th that they had investigated Kim Jeong-gwan for 4 hours.

It is said that the family of former Minister Kim purchased about 2,483 square meters of farmland in Jangnam-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do in 2012.

In June, a civic group filed a complaint with the police on charges of violating the Farmland Act and Real Name Real Estate Act in relation to the purchase of real estate in Yeoncheon by the family of former Minister Kim.

Former Minister Kim had previously explained that her husband farmed normally on the farmland and that the subsequent disposal process was also legal.

The police will decide whether or not to suspect Kim after synthesizing the details of the investigation into Kim.
