The second death has been reported among domestic COVID-19 patients under the age of 10.

According to the Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) today (7th), one of the 0-9 year olds died during treatment yesterday.

Park Young-joon, head of the epidemiological investigation team at Bang Dae-bon, said at a briefing today, "The deceased had an underlying disease."

Authorities are investigating the route of infection of the deceased child with COVID-19, and the exact cause of the death has not yet been confirmed.

When asked if 'Corona 19 vaccine could not have resulted in death,' Koh Jae-young, a spokesperson for the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, "It is difficult to evaluate the death based on the assumption of 'if vaccinated'. I will explain it after the committee's review," he said.

The first death under the age of 10 in Korea occurred on the 28th of last month.

His health condition deteriorated, he went to the emergency room, but died, and was later confirmed to have COVID-19.
