A man in his 40s has been arrested by the police after he punched a 9-year-old girl he saw for the first time on a city bus.

The Incheon West Police Station announced today (6th) that they had booked a 42-year-old man without detention on charges of assault.

Mr. A is accused of hitting 9-year-old B with his fist in a bus passing by a bus stop in Gajwa-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon around 8:34 a.m. on the morning of the 2nd.

At the time, Mr. A said "Don't come" to Ms. B, who was waiting for the bus alone without a guardian at the time, but it was investigated that Ms. B hit the eye area with her fist when she got on the bus.

It is known that the two are in a relationship that has no one-on-one relationship.

The police arrested Mr. A on the 3rd after receiving a report from both parents of B and checking the surrounding CCTVs.

In the police investigation, Mr. A said, "There were a lot of people on the bus, so I told Miss B not to get on the bus, but she didn't listen and hit me."

A police official said, "It is not clear why Mr. A assaulted Miss B." He said, "We plan to investigate the specific motive of the crime against Mr. A."
