It was confirmed today (5th) that foreign students attending a university in Seoul were classified as suspected cases of infection with Omicron, a new mutation of Corona 19.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, all three confirmed cases in Seoul, classified as suspected cases of Omicron infection, were identified as foreign students attending Seoul regional universities.
Two are students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and one from Seoul National University.
It was investigated that they visited the Michuhol-gu church in Incheon, where the pastor and his wife, the first confirmed Omicron confirmed in Korea, attended last weekend.
A Seoul city official said, "The confirmation of Omicron has not yet been confirmed."
Meanwhile, the Seoul Campus of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies informed the student council that a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school, Mr. A, was infected with Omicron mutation as of 00:00 on the same day, but Dongdaemun-gu also said that Mr. A had not yet been confirmed as infected with Omicron.
A, an international student, went to a church in Michuhol-gu last weekend, and it was investigated that he went to and from the school library for three days from the 29th of last month to the 1st of this month.
The quarantine authorities identified Mr. A's movement and instructed 139 students who were on the same floor as the library and 30 who attended the face-to-face class to undergo a gene amplification (PCR) test.
An official from Dongdaemun-gu said, "It is true that the result of the Corona 19 test came out positive." After a visit to the church, the result came out, so the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) separately requested an Omicron test.
A student at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies said, "Only the library is being reduced, and face-to-face classes and school attendance are still enforced."Keywords:
