In Korea, the number of infected with the Omicron mutation, a new mutant virus of Corona 19, increased by three, to a total of 12.
There were also 4 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 suspected of being infected with Omicron mutation, raising the number of epidemiologically related people to 26.
The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced today (5th) that three additional Omicron mutation infections were confirmed.
They were diagnosed with Corona 19 on the 1st after coming into contact with a previous confirmed person of Omicron related to a church in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.
One in three is a woman in her 50s who is an acquaintance of the first infected person in Korea (A couple visiting Nigeria) and ate at a restaurant used by B, who is also infected with Omicron.
The other two are a female acquaintance of Mr. E in his 30s and living with him in his 50s, an acquaintance who was infected by Mr. B.
As a result, the cumulative number of infections in Korea has risen to 12.
By route of infection, 4 people were imported from abroad and 8 were infected domestically.
The confirmed cases of Omicron confirmed earlier in Korea include a married couple from Incheon Pastor A in their 40s who returned from Nigeria, one of their teenage children, acquaintances B, B's wife (C), mother-in-law (D), and B. These are two women in their 50s living in Gyeonggi-do who have visited Nigeria regardless of their acquaintance (E) or Mr. A's couple.
As of 00:00 on the same day, the number of suspected Omicron infections has increased by 4, and the number of cases related to Omicron's epidemiology has increased to 26.
Among the 26 people, 12 confirmed infections are in progress, and full genome analysis is in progress for the remaining 14 people to confirm the mutant infection.
The four new suspects were confirmed with Corona 19 after visiting a church in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, where B's family (C D) and acquaintances (E) visited, or had contact with previous infections and epidemiological related persons.
One contacted Mr. D at a restaurant, one was a church member, and one was a member's child.
One person resides in North Chungcheong Province and has a history of visiting the Incheon church.
Omicron-related cases occurred mainly in the Incheon church except for two women living in Gyeonggi-do.
However, as three members of the Incheon church living in Seoul were classified as related the day before, and a suspect was confirmed in North Chungcheong on that day, it is impossible to rule out the possibility that the Omicron mutation is spreading beyond Incheon to other cities.
The infection that spread from Mr. A and his wife is from acquaintance B → Family B of Mr. B ( Mr. C, Mr. D), acquaintance ( Mr. E) → Church members belonging to Mr. C, Mr. D, and Mr. E → Family and acquaintances of the church member It has spread to the 5th and 6th infections.
