When the teenage son of a pastor and his wife, who was confirmed with the new mutation 'Omicron' of Corona 19, was also confirmed to have the mutation, the education authorities started a preemptive examination of the school.

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced today (3rd) that a preemptive gene amplification (PCR) test will be conducted at an elementary school in Incheon where the pastor's teenage son, group A, is attending.

According to the city office of education, group A returned to the elementary school he was attending on the 25th of last month, after all schools started.

Group A, however, was classified as a close contact when her parents were diagnosed with Corona 19 on the morning of the same day, and were immediately dismissed from school.

Group A showed a negative reaction in the first test performed on the same day, but after receiving the second test during self-isolation, he was confirmed with Corona 19 on the 30th of last month.

Omicron mutation infection was confirmed yesterday.

As a result of the epidemiological investigation by the quarantine authorities, it was found that there were no teachers or students classified as contacts with group A, but the city office of education decided to conduct a preemptive examination in consideration of the concerns of parents.

This school has about 730 students.

An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education said, "Group A was diagnosed with COVID-19 during quarantine, so the possibility of infection related to the school is low."
