A former national boxer who claimed to have died in an accident after killing his father, who suffered from a brain lesion, has been sentenced to a severe sentence.



The 15th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Lee Kyu-hoon) announced yesterday (1st) that it had sentenced A (21), a former boxer from the youth national team, to 10 years in prison for being charged with murder.




Mr. A worked as a boxer from 2013, when he was a freshman in middle school, to 2018, when he was in his third year of high school. He participated in various competitions such as the National Boxing Championships and won first place several times, and was also selected for the youth national team.



Person A was arrested on the 4th of January on the charge of assaulting and killing her father B (55), who had a brain lesion disorder, several times with fists and feet at his home in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.



On the morning of the incident, Mr. A directly reported to 112, saying, "My father died." When the police arrived, Mr. B was found dead on the balcony of his home.



At that time, the police, who found bruises all over the body of Mr. B, requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences to confirm the exact cause of death. As a result of the autopsy, it was confirmed that B's ribs and breastbone were broken and several organs were ruptured.



Person A was arrested after 5 months of internal investigation by the police. During the investigation, Mr. A claimed the death of his father, saying, "I think my father fell at the time," and during the trial, "I never assaulted or killed my father. There is no conflict or dissatisfaction, so there is no motive to kill." .



However, in the course of the trial, it was revealed that when Mr. A went out, he put a spoon on the doorknob of the room to prevent Mr. B from coming out, and fed cup noodles or hamburgers instead of rice. It was also revealed that they had never been taken to the hospital during their time together.



As the police checked the CCTV earlier,Mr. B had not left the house for more than 15 days immediately before he was murdered.




All nine jury members of the People's Participation Trial judged that they were guilty of not accepting Mr. A's claim that he did not murder his father. expressed an opinion.



The court said, "The murder of a lineal ascendant is an unacceptable antisocial and anti-humanitarian crime." We considered one point,” he said, explaining the reason for the sentencing.
