A daycare teacher at a daycare center left a 5-year-old student in the toilet compartment and got caught on the tape recorder in the student's clothes pocket.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Women's Youth Investigation Unit announced today (2nd) that they had booked a child care teacher in their 30s in Incheon without detention on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases concerning Negligence and Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes under the Child Welfare Act.

Person A is accused of leaving 5-year-old girl B in the toilet compartment of a daycare center in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, where she works, for about 8 minutes in early April and preventing her from coming out.

It was confirmed that Mr. A said that Mr. B left the child in the toilet compartment and told him not to come out because Mr. B had been playing with the water for a long time.

Person A is said to have stated in the police investigation, "The child kept playing with the water in the bathroom and did not come out even when asked to come out."

Both parents of B suspected that the child was showing symptoms of separation anxiety, so they sent a recorder in the pocket of the child's clothes.

It is known that Bupyeong-gu, a local government with jurisdiction, has determined that A's conduct does not constitute child abuse in its own investigation.

However, the police found that the act of the childcare teacher leaving the child alone in the bathroom was considered neglect, and charged A and sent it to the prosecution.
