A couple in their 40s living in Incheon, who came to Korea after visiting Nigeria, were finally diagnosed with the Omicron mutant virus.



A, a male acquaintance in his 40s who traveled to his home with the couple, was also confirmed to have been infected with the Omicron mutation.



These three are the first cases of Omicron infection in Korea.



The couple, who had previously been vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine on October 28, visited Nigeria from the 14th to the 23rd of last month, and then returned to Korea and tested positive for COVID-19.



In the process of contact tracing after confirmation, two additional confirmed cases were confirmed on the 30th of last month, including A and one teenage son of a couple in their 40s.



Here, it was confirmed that three people, including A's family and acquaintances, also tested positive the day after Mr. A was confirmed.



The quarantine authorities are also analyzing the whole genome of the remaining four confirmed patients suspected of having Omicron mutation infection. It will be out in 4 days.
