Earlier this year, Twitter announced a pilot program in the United States to offer shopping features to users of its social network.

Today, the company is testing new ways to extend these purchasing capabilities by integrating them into live broadcasts.

Twitter explains in a blog post that this new feature will allow users to sell products while they are displayed during a Twitter stream.

During the broadcast, viewers will be able to consult the list of products present in the stream by going below the video.

They will be redirected with a single click to the store site to complete the purchase.

Tele-shopping

The company believes this feature will increase audience engagement.

The first stream dedicated to purchases took place on November 28 with a partnership between Jason Derulo and Walmart as part of Cyber ​​Week.

The artist will spend a good half an hour showcasing promotional products on the platform, including electronic gadgets, clothing and home decorations.

“Live streaming on Twitter gives businesses the power to interact with their most influential fans, and adding the ability to shop into that experience is a natural extension to attract and engage a receptive audience,” explains Twitter.
