The quarantine authorities launched an investigation after the first case in Korea suspected of being infected with the Omicron mutant virus was confirmed.

The case was a couple who had been vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine at the end of last month, and after visiting Nigeria in Africa on the 14th, they returned to Korea on the 23rd, and were diagnosed with Corona two days later.

The quarantine authorities are carrying out full-length genome testing on three additional confirmed acquaintances after moving to their home with them.

The authorities will release the test results tomorrow (1st) afternoon.
