first confirmed case classified as a suspected case of omicron mutation in Korea is a couple in their 40s living in Incheon who recently returned from a visit to Nigeria.



The couple was diagnosed with Corona 19 on the 25th of last month, two days after returning from Nigeria, and it is known that the second dose of the Moderna vaccine was completed at the end of October.



During the contact tracing process of the couple, one acquaintance and one family member living together were also confirmed confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases related to the Omicron mutation to four.



Among them, an acquaintance was found to have helped the couple get from the airport to their home.



The quarantine authorities, which are conducting genomic analysis of three people, including a couple and acquaintances, plan to secure a sample for the other one and test it.



Whether they are infected with the Omicron mutation is expected to come out this afternoon.



Meanwhile, the government has started tracking and managing 45 people who entered the country on the same plane as the couple.



President Moon Jae-in, who was reported to the suspected case of Omicron, ordered a pan-government task force to further strengthen entry quarantine.



The government plans to expand the number of countries with entry restrictions in addition to eight countries, including South Africa, by continuing to evaluate the level of risk and spread by country.
