Researchers studied the effect of radio waves in the 1-10 mm range on COVID-19.
Experimentally, they found out that radiation destroys the virus in two seconds.
"This type of radiation operates in the millimeter wave mode, which means that they have a wavelength of about three millimeters," - quotes the publication of one of the authors of the scientific work, Professor Moshe Einat.
Scientists noted that such waves affect the temperature rise and thus make it possible to fight the virus - this method has successfully shown itself on various delicate surfaces.
At the same time, the researchers doubted that this method is applicable to the human body.
Earlier, Russian specialists developed a new system for the delivery of radionuclides to a cancerous tumor - they managed to reduce the side effects of a radioactive isotope thanks to a film of gold or a titanium-containing organic compound.
Tests in mice have shown that the new method blocks non-therapeutic radiation by 98%.
This will significantly reduce the side effects of radiation therapy.
