Former Chairman Choi played a key role when the ordinance to establish Seongnam Urban Development Corporation was passed by the Seongnam City Council in 2013.

As the Daejang-dong development project has accelerated since the establishment of the corporation, suspicions have been raised that Chairman Choi received money from private businesses in Daejang-dong for this contribution.

On the 17th, the police raided the home of former Chairman Choi and the Hwacheon Daeyu office.

In particular, former Chairman Choi, who is currently an executive at Hwacheon Daewoo, is suspected of bribes of KRW 4 billion in incentives promised by Hwacheon Daewoo.

The police are also said to be reviewing the 100 million-million-dollar accusation that former Chairman Choi was acquitted of by the prosecution in 2015.

At the time, there were suspicions that former Chairman Choi received 100 million won from another Daejang-dong private business operator.

The police have established a dedicated investigation team in Daejang-dong and have been concentrating on the investigation into the Seongnam City Council lobby.

After the investigation into the summons of former Chairman Choi Yoon-gil, interest is being drawn to how far the lobby will be uncovered.
