At the end of this week, four weeks have passed since the beginning of the gradual recovery of daily life. The evaluation period will start next week to see if it can move on to the next stage, and the government thinks that, if the current trend is the same, it should be considered to pause the daily recovery rather than loosen the quarantine measures.

Reporter Park Chan-geun covered what measures are being discussed.

<Reporter> The

metropolitan area has already been evaluated as 'very dangerous', which is the highest level in the Corona 19 risk assessment this Monday.

It is the result of reviewing the quarantine indicators of the previous week, and the situation has worsened since then.

The utilization rate of intensive care beds in the metropolitan area soared to 83.7% as of yesterday (23rd), and there are 778 patients waiting for more than a day.

The government believes that it is possible to activate an 'emergency plan' that suspends normal recovery only in the metropolitan area.

[Jeong Eun-kyung/Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (last 17th): We will review the risk assessment and action plan by dividing the metropolitan area and non-metropolitan area based on the nationwide (intensive care bed) utilization rate.]

Rather than returning to the past, some quarantine measures Reinforcement measures are predicted.

The Daily Recovery Support Committee held a meeting with the quarantine and medical division today, and plans to decide on quarantine measures at a general meeting tomorrow.

Measures related to quarantine passes are mainly being discussed.

In the meantime, it is a plan to apply the quarantine pass to restaurants and cafes where up to four people can gather.

Children under the age of 18 and adolescents may also be included in the quarantine pass.

We are considering applying it to PC rooms, karaoke rooms, and cultural events with more than 100 people, which are popular with teenagers.

Even if quarantine measures are strengthened, it is difficult to expect a decrease in the number of confirmed cases right away, as the effect will appear after one to two weeks.

The government is planning to conduct a situation evaluation for the first stage of daily recovery for two weeks from next week.
