The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases increased by 4,116, to a cumulative total of 425,65.



This is an increase of 1,417 from yesterday (2,699), surpassing the previous record of 3,292 cases on the 18th in 6 days.



This is 929 more than the 3,187 people on Tuesday of last week (17th as of the announcement date) a week ago.



As the number of confirmed cases skyrocketed, the number of severe cases and deaths also increased significantly.



The number of patients with severe severe cases counted today was 586, an increase of 37 from yesterday (549), also recording the highest number.



The death toll is also 35, the highest since the 'fourth epidemic' began in July.



The cumulative number of deaths was 3,363, and the national average fatality rate was 0.79%.



If you look at the route of infection of the new confirmed cases, 4,88 cases were local and 28 were imported from abroad.



The number of new confirmed cases in the past week (November 18-24) is 3,292 → 3,34 → 3,206 → 3,120 → 2,827 → 2,699 → 4,116 per day. The average is about 3,185 people.



Excluding imported cases from overseas, the average daily number of confirmed cases is about 3,164.



If you look at the number of new confirmed cases in the region, 3,125 (76.4%), including 1,730 in Seoul, 1,176 in Gyeonggi, and 219 in Incheon, are spreading mainly in the metropolitan area.
