yesterday (22nd), elementary, middle and high school students across the country started going to school every day for the first time in two years. It is a good thing, but as I said earlier, the corona situation is getting worse in the metropolitan area, so both parents and students are confused.

Early in the morning in the sudden cold weather, elementary school students enter the school gate one by one.

They hold their children's hands and send them off to the front of the school, and sometimes hug them tightly in fear of being cold.

All kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools across the country have started going to school.

Elementary care and after-school classes have also resumed.

It has been 1 year and 8 months since remote classes were conducted in parallel due to COVID-19, and the daily recovery of the educational field has begun.

We agree with the need to close the educational gap and recover students' psychological and emotional health, but the re-spreading Corona 19 is a big concern.

[Um Hyeon-jeong/Parent: (elementary school students) are in a situation where there are dozens of confirmed cases, so I have some anxiety in this situation.]

Distance classes are also possible at the discretion of the school.

[Changsu Kim / Principal of Hwibong High School in Seoul: If a student is confirmed in one class, only that class cannot switch to online classes, and the entire school year has no choice but to switch online.] School

rules have also been partially changed.

If the family is self-isolating, students who have been vaccinated can return to school without any conditions, and students who have not completed the vaccination can return to school if the PCR test is negative within 48 hours.

Even if the family is confirmed, students who have completed the vaccination can go to school if they are asymptomatic.

On the first day of school, 117 elementary, middle and high schools in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do took remote classes due to the outbreak of the virus.

The government decided to set up a guidance and inspection team with local governments and operate it until the end of the year for off-school facilities with high risk of infection, such as private academies, PC rooms, and karaoke rooms.
