▲ The Boryeong Coast Guard rescues a man in his 60s isolated from high tide

At about 10:50 am today (20th), a man in his 60s, A, was isolated in high tide while collecting clams at a tidal flat in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do.

Upon receiving the report, the Boryeong Coast Guard dispatched a rescue team to the scene, while requesting helicopter support from the Central Coast Guard and a search for monitoring equipment from nearby military units.

The Coast Guard, who had difficulty in searching due to the thick fog, found Mr. A within 40 minutes of receiving the report.

The man was found to be submerged up to his neck in the rapidly rising seawater.

At that time, it was the high tide time when the difference in sea level height between the ebb and the tide was greatest.

The 119 paramedics moved Mr. A, who complained of hypothermia, to a nearby hospital.
