A 50-year-old man who struck down a driver while taking a nap in a car with a hammer has been sentenced to prison.



The 1st Criminal Division of the Jeonju District Court announced that it maintained the original trial sentence of 1 year and 2 months in prison for 59-year-old A, who was charged with special injuries, etc.



Mr. A was charged with smashing Mr. B, who was resting after parking his car in an vacant lot at around 1 pm on July 6, pulling out a weapon and wielding it.



Mr. B was hit in the head with a hammer and cut with a knife, and suffered 2 weeks of dislocation.



When Mr. B took refuge in the car, Mr. A put his hand through the passenger window and ran away with 5,000 won.



The court said, "The defendant wielded a hammer and a knife and inflicted significant bleeding wounds on the victim," the court said.
