<Anchor> A group of

people who collected contact information from members at Mom Cafe and robbed money in various ways was caught. They told me to pay a fee for a loan, and induced them to join a fake investment site saying they can make a high profit, but the number of victims is over 600.

Reporter Park Myung-sun of KNN covered the story.

[Police: I will explain, so open the door. (Okay.)]

Illegally collected personal information is poured out from the computer of Mr. A, a 20-year-old general who was captured here.

Mr. A's group collected contact information published on Mom's Cafe and sent an advertisement text saying, "Corona 19 support loan," and then received more than 14 million won as a loan fee.

In addition, after posting a false SNS advertisement saying that you can earn 500,000 won per hour, they induced you to join a fake investment site, and received up to 80 million won from one person and hijacked it.

The victims even took out loans and sent money to fake investment sites.

[Victim: Corona 19 is so severe that it is very difficult. I invested like that because I wanted to make a living and even just tens of thousands of won, so it was a scam that (scammers) used a lot of tactics at the time.]

There were also body cam phishing victims who took pictures of body parts.

Only 678 victims were identified by the police, and the amount of damage reached 2.5 billion won.

Most of the victims, who are young women or housewives, were reluctant to report it for fear of being known.

The police arrested three people, including 24-year-old A, on charges of violating the Special Act on the Prevention of Damages from Telecommunication and Financial Frauds, and booked the remaining four people without detention.
