A man in his 20s was arrested after stabbing his ex-girlfriend with a knife and confronting the police for about an hour and a half.



The Wonmi Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, arrested a 24-year-old man on the 10th on charges of attempted murder, obstruction of the execution of special duties, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.



In the afternoon of the 10th, at the interrogation (warrant examination) of the suspect before the arrest of Mr. A, an arrest warrant was issued saying, "The crime is serious and there is a risk of escape."



A is accused of threatening to stab her ex-girlfriend B twice in the back at about 3:18 a.m. the previous day at an entertainment district in Simgok-dong, Bucheon.



He is also accused of injuring B's acquaintance C, who was with him at the time, by punching him in the face several times.



B was transferred to a nearby hospital by the 119 paramedics who were dispatched after receiving the report, and it is known that there is no life-threatening condition.



C, who was injured by A's assault, was also treated at the hospital.



When the police arrived, Mr. A grabbed Mr. B for about 10 minutes and threatened with a weapon.



Person A confronted the police saying "I will harm myself" and was arrested as a current criminal after an hour and a half.



On the afternoon of the 5th, Mr. A was arrested by the police for assaulting Mr. B by grabbing him by the neck or pushing him against a wall, and it was investigated that he committed the crime again on the same day.



A police official said, "At the time of the crime, he was drunk and excited, so he has not yet figured out the specific motive for the crime."
