<Anchor> As the

number of elements, which had been easily and relatively cheaply available, became a valuable product due to a shortage of supplies, not only industrial sites but also our daily lives are threatened. Urea water, which is mainly used in diesel vehicles, is also essential to filter exhaust gases from burning garbage. It is said that there is a possibility that the operation of the garbage incinerator may be stopped.

Reporter Jang Se-man, an environmental expert, was the sole reporter.

Urea water is required to filter exhaust gas from a garbage incineration facility in the metropolitan area.

Today (the 8th) is the day to bring in urea water, but the supply delay is making me cringe.

[Incinerator employee: If there is no urea water, the incinerator cannot operate and waste disposal cannot be done at all.]

About half of the amount of urea remaining in a 10-ton tank is only two to three days' worth.

If the industrial urea water value jumps three or four times and the supply shortage continues, it is inevitable that waste incineration will be disrupted.

As a result of the Ministry of Environment's investigation of all six urea water suppliers that deal with industrial waste incinerators, four responded that they only have quantities to supply by the end of this month only to existing incinerators.

The other two also said that they will be able to supply until the end of next month.

This means that it will be difficult to operate the incinerator if additional quantities cannot be secured.

The situation is similar for general waste incinerators.

[Incinerator official: If urea water is not sprayed (because it exceeds the nitrogen oxide standard), the incinerator cannot operate.

Since companies cannot export more than that, if they fail to operate, there is a huge amount of garbage.]

Incineration ash produced after incineration is also a problem.

Vehicles carrying incineration ashes with fat are also in a serious state of saturation due to a lack of urea water.

Incineration companies are asking for permission to recycle food waste wastewater containing ammonia as an alternative to urea water, but the Ministry of Environment's position is that it is difficult to replace food wastewater because it is not effective in reducing harmful substances.
